A Girly Favor

I was hostess this month for the stamp club that I am part. I like to make little favors for my my fellow club ladies. I used PTI's Favor It 3 to whip up some quick little bags that hold a surprising 9 Hershey chocolates.

I finally got around to ordering Up, Up & Away, which has been on my wish list for months, and I cannot put it down! It is a super fun set that is really versatile.

I asked my 5 year old, DJ, what he thought of the little treat bag and he told me that it was way too girlie. LOL. Maybe it is a little girlie.

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

This month's PTI Blog Hop Challenge is to use embroidery floss in a unique way on your project. Read all the details here.

I came up with the idea to use embroidery floss to weave around buttons to make a flower.

And a close up of the floss flower.

It didn't turn out exactly as I pictured it in my head, but I think it still turned out all right.

A Rainbow Wedding

Oh boy, life has been busy! No time to sit down, let alone craft. I've missed it. But, I had an excuse to squeeze in a little time in my craft room to whip up a wedding card for my husband's cousin. He got married this past Saturday and we were unable to attend due to my work schedule. But of course we still sent a card.

The theme of their wedding was rainbows. Rainbows decorated the entire venue, from what I heard. How appropriate for a spring wedding.

And, what a perfect excuse for me to break out "Up, Up and Away." I just bought this set and the ADORABLE cloud dies from Papertrey Ink, and I am so glad that I did. Love them. Don't know how I lived without them. Can't wait until the matching balloon die is back in stock so I can get that, too.

Hope you have a rainbow and sunshine day! Thanks for stopping by!

Little Thank Yous

At around 11:30pm tonight I had an idea for a set of little 3x3 "Thank You" cards. Rather than doing the sensible thing and writing down my idea to work on tomorrow, I did the very insensible thing and went ahead and made them tonight. I also took pictures and now I am blogging about said cards. I am definitely going to be paying for this in 5 hours when my kids are up and ready to start the day!

This set of 4 little cards are, I think, perfect for a little girl's birthday thank you notes. Or, they would also be cute for thanking friends and family for sweet little baby gifts. What do you think?

I distressed the 3 sides of the card like Lisa Johnson did in the Make it Monday Challenge this week. I also picked soft pastels and butterflies, a spring theme to go along with the Papertrey Peeps March Petite challenge.

I love the way they look all together!

Papertrey Dolls & Make it Monday Challenges

I don't have a lot of time this week. Instead of "I only have ten minutes," I really only have 5 minutes! It took me all week to make the card below. And, it just so happens to qualify for 2 challenges this week. Edit: I may have over-impressed some of you. I meant that I made the card in three or four 5 minute segments. The cupcake in 5 minutes, the matting in 5 minutes, etc. I wish I could knock out a card in 5 minutes! lol

To qualify for the Make it Monday Challenge, the project had to use the distress technique. Read more about it here along with the video. So, I distressed the edges of the pink focal point. It is hard to tell in the wide shot, so for proof, here is a close up.

I am also playing along with the fabulous Papertrey Dolls group with their "P-T-I" challenge. The idea is to make a project that includes something that starts with "P", "T", and "I". Fun, huh?

So, for "P", I went with Paper Piecing and Polka dots.
"T" is chocolate baker's Twine, Tiny Treats: Valentines (sentiment) and Tea die duo
"I" is for Impression of mat stack 4.

And, here is a close up of the Paper Pieced cupcake:

Okay, my 5 minutes are up! Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Posse March Challenge

I am sooooo excited to post my first challenge for the Papertrey Posse group I just became a part of! I was invited last month to be part of this fabulous group of women from the PTI forum. There are monthly challenges with a mini challenge thrown in for good measure.

The challenge this month was given to us by Becky who wanted us to use a frame on your project. Here is a link with all the details. I love Becky's card! It was a real inspiration to me.

The mini challenge was to create a spring card.

I combined both challenges and came up with this:

As spring-y as my card is, it is currently snowing as I look out the winter. *sigh*

Make it Monday-Fun Foam Card 2

I'm back again with another card for the Make It Monday Fun Foam challenge.

This time I used the Mat Stack 3 die to cut the foam. Then, I embossed the foam frame with an embossing folder.

Here is a close up of the stamped image I got from the homemade stamp.

Kind of like my own mat stack frame stamp! Unfortunately I don't have any of PTI's impression plates, so I'm not sure if this same technique would work with those.

I used the same green glitter fun foam that I used in my last post for the little shamrock embellishment that was made from 3 die cut hearts.

Make It Monday-Fun Foam

I haven't had a chance to update my blog....or even make any projects....lately, but when I saw the new Make It Monday challenge, I had to schedule in some time in my craft area.

My baby is going to be 2 on the 9th of this month. How fast time flies! Seems like just a couple weeks ago I brought him home from the hospital, not a couple years!

Dashton March 2011

Here is the birthday card that I made for him using the Fun Foam technique.

I used the foam to make die cut number stamps with PTI's By the Numbers dies. Then, I cut the "2" with some really fun glittered green (Dash's favorite color) fun foam. I just loved the vellum sentiments from Make it Monday a couple weeks back, so I included that technique, too.

Here is a picture of the number stamps that I created.
